Know before experiencing Crocosaurus Cove Cage of Death

  • Before your dive, you will be given a 20-minute brief of things to note, safety instructions, and other important details. 
  • You will need to take a shower before dipping into the water. 
  • Out of the four crocodiles dedicated to the Cage of Death experience, you can choose which one you want to dive with. 
  • Next, you are lowered into a pool in a glass enclosure with the chosen crocodile. 
  • The up-close encounter allows you to observe the minute details of its scales and its movement underwater, all under expert supervision.
  • In the last five minutes, you’ll also get to witness a streak of the reptile’s killer instinct as it snaps up the food lowered into the pool by caretakers.
  • Arrive 20 minutes early: You will have to arrive at least 20 minutes before the allotted time of your experience for a safety brief by the handlers before your dive. 
  • Age limit: The minimum age for this experience is 15 years. 15-17-year-olds will need a consent form signed by a guardian of 18 or older and will also need to be accompanied into the cage.
  • Two-person limit: Only two people can enter the Cage of Death at one time. If a minor is to enter the cage, only one adult can go along with them. 
  • Shower before diving: It is recommended that you take a quick shower in the shower rooms next to the Cage of Death to remove any chemicals off your skin that may harm the crocs.
  • During the eleven dives that happen daily, caretakers are careful to choose a water-borne crocodile that is more eager to interact with humans. This ensures that the experience is engaging to both you and the crocodile. 
  • Any crocodiles that are resting or on land are left undisturbed for their comfort. 
  • A crocodile only needs a small amount of meat every week and the five-minute feed session during the Cage of Death encounter is a good way to keep their hunting instincts active while also meeting the reptile’s needs.
  • Bring proof of age: Carry a valid ID proof for your dive, especially if you’re a minor. 
  • Bring swimwear: Bring a towel and swimming clothes for your dive. 
  • Follow instructions: Make sure that you follow the instructions given by your handler to the dot. 
  • Book in advance: While it’s possible for you to get the Cage of Death experience after you visit Crocosaurus Cove, it is best that you book these tickets in advance to avoid being disappointed. All the slots for the experience tend to get booked 3-5 days in advance, especially in the peak season of May to August.
